I have forever been obsessed with cake. It is, quite possibly the most perfect food. It can be light, heavy, super sweet, or not, and comfort the soul like nothing else.I've been making cakes for as long as I remember. Cake means love, most especially in the South where I grew up. It was customary - still is! - to take a pound cake over to someone's house when you were going to visit. Christmas time meant fruit cake. And birthdays, well, they were the ultimate - birthdays meant BIRTHDAY CAKE! The candles, the colors, the magic! There are few things like a birthday cake that mean "you are special". Now, some people might say they don't want all that fuss. But I say, it's your birthday - the one day where it's just fine for folks to fuss over you!
My cakes are 100% homemade. I don't believe in shortcuts, mostly because I just don't think the end results taste as good as something from scratch. I use the best ingredients I can find; it makes a world of difference and is worth every penny. After all, if you're going to have a treat, shouldn’t it be the best-tasting treat you can put in your mouth?Caked Up Cakes are fresh, delicious and beautiful. Wedding cakes are available in all flavors and fillings listed in Classic and Specialty cake menus. I often get requests for out-of-the-ordinary flavors and combinations, so please inquire if you don't see what you're looking for.
Caked Up offers tastings for a small fee of $5 per person to cover expenses. Tastings and consultations can be booked for 1 hour for up to 3 people on Saturdays or Sundays. Please confirm the number of guests you’ll be bringing at the time of booking.
Although you don't necessarily need to bring anything to the tasting, it’s always helpful to know things like color scheme, type of flowers you’ll have or any other detail that will help give us a sense for the event. I’ll also need a guest count to ensure the cake will accommodate everyone. Lastly, we will discuss budget, so coming prepared to with a figure in mind will help us decide upon a unique and beautiful design in a comfortable price range.

How do I place an order with Caked Up? Please make initial inquires via email (right below!). You can then place orders by filling out an easy form on email that I'll send you, or over the phone. And of course we can discuss in person.How far in advance do I need to place my order? Caked Up needs advance notice of three weeks, but all orders are on a first come, first served basis. I can sometimes accommodate last-minute orders, so please inquire to see if there is an opening.How do I reserve my event date? Do you require a deposit? A deposit of half of the estimated amount is required to reserve your event date. The rest is due upon delivery of the cake (or sooner, if it is convenient for you). We accept cash, checks and will soon be accepting major credit cards. As all cakes are made to order, we have a 48-hour cancellation time period or full payment is still required.Do you deliver? Yes, delivery to Manhattan is available for a flat fee of $15 and $25 to the other four boroughs. Do you ship your cakes? Unfortunately Caked Up does not ship at this time. I have food restrictions. Do you offer gluten-free, dairy-free or organic cakes? Everyone should enjoy cake! Certain varieties are available gluten-free or dairy-free for a small increase in price.
